Wool is a marvellous natural fibre: a locally available and native abundant renewable resource. It’s properties have been respected and utilised by mankind for eons

Extra care should be taken when washing your woollen goods.

Here are the key steps:

Only wash when necessary. Airing or spot cleaning is often enough to freshen up

When an item requires washing the best method is:

  • Use water - maximum temperature 30°C however I recommend no more than a 20°C if using a machine or opt for the Wool Wash setting if you have this on your machine and a low spin

  • Wash with a gentle detergent suitable for wool (ie. Ecover Wool & Silk Laundry Liquid)

  • When Handwashing only using a gentle action to avoid shrinkage and felting. Do not rub or wring and avoid extremes of temperature

  • After rinsing, lay flat in a clean towel and roll then ease into shape and dry naturally

  • Do not tumble dry

  • If you wish your scarf can be steam ironed on a low to medium setting. You can use a clean wet cloth to buffer

Product Care

All purchases come with a complimentary organic cotton dustbag for safe-keeping of your special handwoven piece, so I recommend using this between wears or when travelling

You can also use a naturally scented lavender bag or use a cedar spritz to protect against moths and for an added touch of luxury
